Maria Banks Woodley Riddell, beautiful, clever and bright, this muse to Scottish poet Robert Burns also wrote poetry and was described by Burns to friend William Smellie, an Edinburgh Publisher and Printer as, “The Lady too, is a votary of the Muses; and as I think I am some what of a judge in my own trade, I assure you her verses, always correct, and often elegant, are very much beyond the common run of the Lady Poetesses of the day”.

Sheila Tandyis influenced by the work of Margaret MacDonald MacKintosh, she started her own business in 1999 creating Limited Edition Gesso panels some inspired by Mackintosh and some her own designs.
