My post today shares art which includes the word “Highland“, in the title of the artists piece of work. I am almost sure this is a consequence influenced by my successful goal of climbing my first Munro, Buachaille Etive Mòr.
The Scottish Highlands are collectively six regions – Skye and Lochalsh, Fort William and Lochaber, Inverness, Loch Ness and Tain, Aviemore and The Cairngorms, Moray and the Northern Highlands.
This picturesque area of Scotland has wonderous mountains, diverse wildlife, enchanting lochs, sandy beaches, historic castles, monuments, and battlefields. The Highlands are world renound and steeped in amazing historic events, famous Scots and folklore. From the Loch Ness Monster to the Massacre at Glencoe, to cattle rustling Scotsmen, Whiskey distilling, tartan making and kilt wearing. These regions are famous for Scottish history, the Gaelic language, outdoor pursuits, local produce, traditional crafts, art and much more.
